Video Transcription
I'm Brett DeGoyer. I'm a primary care sports medicine specialist and neuromusculoskeletal medicine specialist, practicing for Samaritan Healthcare in Moses Lake, Washington. In this case, we're treating plantar fasciitis and doing so with osteopathic manipulative treatment. We'll focus on treating the plantar fascia at different points where there is pain using a technique called counter strain, basically wrapping around a point to get things to relax and the pain to settle down. Additionally, we would use a muscle energy and deep tissue stretching technique to try and lengthen those fibers of the plantar fascia. If you'd like to learn more and see a demonstration of those specific techniques, please refer to the end of the case.
