Hello, I'm Brett DeGoyer. I'm a primary care sports medicine specialist working for Samaritan Healthcare in Moses Lake, Washington. So in this case, we learned that there was a hip issue specific to a stress fracture on the compression side of the femur. In addition to my specialty as primary care sports medicine, I am also certified in neuromusculoskeletal medicine and osteopathic manipulative treatment. If this patient was sent to me for consultation on manual treatment, I would take an approach with using muscle energy, ligamentous articular strain, and oscillatory inhibition. These would help to address pain, tightness, and dysfunction in that area without undue stress on the area of complaint. If you'd like to learn more about these treatment approaches, please see the end of the case for the link.
